Our cheeses are the result of a tradition present in our family since 1918. Using raw milk from our own cows, we produce our cheeses according to the well-known process from the Gouda region in the Netherlands, our place of origin. Farm-made cheese ("Boerenkaas") is a protected name given to cheese made with milk from the farm's own cows. It is made from untreated, unheated raw milk. Therefore, farm-made cheese contains far more aromas and beneficial bacteria.

From Haastrecht to Thoricourt: the same artisanal gesture
The cheesemaking tradition within our family began in 1918 when our ancestors started their farm in Haastrecht, a small village in the Gouda region. Since then, our family recipe has made its way and is now world-renowned. Already in 1975, our great-grandmother Aletta Den Boer won the World Championship for best cheese.
In 1992, we built our farm in Thoricourt (municipality of Silly). The house, the cheese dairy and the stable were entirely built by our family.
Today, it is the turn of the fourth generation to perpetuate this know-how and this taste for good things in Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.
